Initial SPARS chart tests conclude

From April 2014 - July 2014, the Single Prescription and Administration Record for Scotland (SPARS) was used in the Scottish Health Boards of NHS Tayside, NHS Highland, and NHS Western Isles. This testing period of 12 weeks has provenĀ  useful in establishing the functionality of the chart in a clinical environment and we will be refining the chart with feedback from the testing sites.
Feedback was generally positive from all the testing sites, with the same areas for improvement highlighted by all. Suggestions included implementing coloured shading / codes and clarifying details in the instructions.
The SPARS Working Group will meet in August 2014 to review this feedback and we hope to enter into a fully-fledged pilot of the chart towards the end of the 2014, with a host site in each of the Scottish Health Boards.
If you would be interested in becoming involved and hosting a pilot of the SPARS chart in your hospital, please contact Sara Collier at s.collier@rcpe.ac.uk
